2008 — Anne Pressly is found unresponsive in her bed. Her computer and purse had been taken. She died five days later.
2014 — Laquan McDonald, 17, is shot by a police officer. Officer Jason Van Dyke of the Chicago PD reported that McDonald was behaving erratically with a knife and lunged at him. Dash cam video released of the shooting revealed that this had no been the case. Van Dyke was charged with first-degree murder and he was ultimately found guilty of second-degree murder and 16 counts of aggravated battery.
