1838 — Haun’s Mill Massacre occurs in Caldwell County, Missouri. A mob or militia attacked a Mormon settlement.

1966 — Cheri Jo Bates, 28, is found dead at Riverside City College. She is a suspected victim of the Zodiac killer.

1968 — Jose Ramón Gil Samaniego Novarro is killed. The Mexican-American actor had began working in silent films. Novarro was murdered by Paul and Tom Ferguson. They offered him sexual services with the intent to rob him.
