1930 — Christine Collins wins a lawsuit against police Captain J. J. Jones after her son, Walter, is kidnapped. Jones forces Collins to take home a boy who claims to be Walter. She had evidence the boy was not Walter, but instead Jones had her committed to a psychiatric ward. Her son was never found and is presumed to be a victim of the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders.
1936 — Joseph Rosen, the owner of a Brooklyn candy store, is killed after Louis Buchalter orders it.
