1963 — A bomb is placed at 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Four girls are killed as a result.

1983 — Frances Schreuder is convicted in the murder of Franklin Bradshaw. Frances, his daughter, had recruited her son to commit the act, allegedly for monetary purposes.

2001 — Balbir Singh Sodhi, a gas station owner, is murdered in Mesa, Arizona. The Sikh-American was killed in a hate crime in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks just a few days earlier. The perpetrator was Frank Silva Roque.
