1859 — James Donnelly is sentenced to death for the murder of Patrick Farrell. His sentence is later reduced to seven years.
1966–13 men are arrested in Grenada, Mississippi, after young black school children are attacked.
1995 — Stephanie Kuhen, 3, is murdered in Los Angeles, leading to a significant crackdown on gangs in the city. The perpetrators, who were arrested and convicted, shot at her family’s car after it made a wrong turn.
2009 — Raymond J. Clark III is arrested in the murder of Annie Le, which occurred days earlier. She was killed at the Yale campus and found several days later. Clark was sentenced to 44 years in prison.
2009 — The Farmville murders occur in Farmville, Virginia. Four people are killed: Mark Niederbrock, Debra S. Kelley, Emma Niederbrock, and Melanie Wells. Emma had been in a relationship with Richard Samuel McCroskey, who was 20. McCroskey was convicted of the murders and sentenced to life in prison.
