September 25 is the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims.

1985 — The murders of Gerald and Vera Woodman, also known as the ninja murders and Yom Kippur murders, occur in West Los Angeles. The Woodmans are killed in their garage after coming home from a Yom Kippur meal. Their sons were ultimately convicted of hiring two men to kill them.

1988 — The mummified remains of a woman between the ages of 22 and 35 are found in Clermont, Florida. She is known as Julie Doe, and her case remains unsolved.
