48 BC — Pompey the Great is killed on the orders of Egypt’s King Ptolemy.

935 — Duke Wenceslaus I is murdered by his brother, Boleslaus I, and a group of nobles.

1904 — A woman is apparently arrested for smoking a cigarette in a car in New York.

1916 — Florence Arlene Small is killed by her husband, Frederick, in Ossipee, New Hampshire. Frederick was hanged for the crime in 1918.
