Want to Fight Writer’s Block? Check Out These Story Generators
One of the biggest roadblocks to writing is actually getting started. It’s so easy to back away from writing when you don’t have an idea to work with.
Now, I don’t use generators all the time, but I do think they can be fun to play with. You might find these useful too.
This plot generator offers a lot of types of ideas, including blurbs and short story ideas. They are pretty silly, but you can fill in the blanks to make them specific to ideas you already have. There are also a few name generators.
An example:
Frederick is a detective from Bolton who falls in love with her neighbour. The two are separated when the neighbour decides the relationship is inappropriate. However, Frederick manages to rescue the situation by finding a magic ring.
