Who Is Colton Jane Doe?
Colton is a California city in San Bernardino County home to about 52,000 people. The city rests about one hour’s drive east of Los Angeles. In the 1980s, Colton experienced a surprising population boom, growing from a town of 21,000 people to one of 40,000.
On June 19, 1987, somebody came across the body of a woman who had been murdered and left in Colton. The woman had been shot to death just hours before her body was discovered on the 500 block of Birch Court. The area now looks like an industrial park.
Few details are immediately available about the circumstances of the woman’s death, including how she was discovered. It is frustrating to have so little information about this case, but fortunately a clear physical description of Jane Doe’s features may help somebody identify her.
