Investigation Discovery has been known for putting out a lot of salacious, dramatized material. Arguably, one of the best shows on the network was also the one that was the least dramatized.

If you are thinking about watching Disappeared but are intimidated by the huge catalog of episodes, these are some great episodes to start on. Many of these cases are horrifying. Some of the families featured in these episodes have found answers since their episode aired. Some have not.

Season 2, Episode 1 — “The Secret Journey

Brittanee Drexel disappeared on April 25, 2009, while on spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Video footage of Drexel on the night she disappeared make her disappearance especially perplexing. This case is potentially solved, but the resolution still lends itself to many questions.

Season 2, Episode 2 — “The Beauty Queen Mystery”

Tara Grinstead disappeared from her home in Ocilla, Georgia, on October 22, 2005. This case has also been resolved since this episode aired.

Season 2, Episode 4— “No Exit”

Tanya Rider disappeared on September 19, 2007, near Seattle. This episode is difficult to watch for a variety of reasons, but the case is resolved in the episode.

Season 2, Episode 8 — “Mojave Mystery”

April Beth Pitzer went missing on June 28, 2004 from Newberry Springs, California. This case is extremely frustrating. I did a write up about the case last year:
